Mr. Seabolt has extensive experience conducting all aspects of complex business litigation, including pre-litigation investigations, early case assessment, injunctive proceedings, written and electronic discovery, depositions, expert discovery, summary judgment, trials and appeals. An experienced trial attorney, Mr. Seabolt has tried dozens of cases before judges, juries and arbitration panels.

Though based in Michigan, Mr. Seabolt has represented clients in courts across the country, including Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New York, Ohio and Wisconsin. He has extensive experience handling international disputes for and against companies from a variety of jurisdictions, including Argentina, Canada, China, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Qatar, South Korea, Sweden and Thailand. He has represented clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Michigan Court of Appeals. He has represented clients in SEC investigations and enforcement matters and before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Mr. Seabolt also has led internal investigations for corporate clients, including multiple international investigations.

Mr. Seabolt is admitted to practice law in Michigan state courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the Eastern District of Michigan and the Western District of Michigan. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association.

Mr. Seabolt is a Detroit native. He received his B.A. (1993) in mathematics and economics from the University of Michigan. He received his J.D. (1996) from Cornell Law School, where he was a Moot Court champion and a member of the Moot Court Board.

In 1996, after graduating from Cornell Law School, Mr. Seabolt joined Dickinson Wright PLLC as an associate in the litigation department. In 2001, Mr. Seabolt joined Foley & Lardner LLP, where he became a partner in the litigation department in 2005. 

Mr. Seabolt was named to dBusiness Magazine’s 30 in their 30s list in 2010. This prestigious honor recognizes professionals in Michigan who are in their 30s and have achieved notable success in their respective fields. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© (2016) for his commercial litigation work. He has been included in the Michigan Super Lawyers® list in the field of business litigation (2013 – 2015) and was previously included in the Michigan Super Lawyers – Rising Stars® editions (2008 – 2010).  Mr. Seabolt is a graduate of Leadership Detroit XXVII.
